Our History & Mission

The Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted Caldwell County nonprofits, many of which struggled to fundraise. In response to concerns raised by a local citizen, the Caldwell County Community Services Foundation (CCCSF) was established in December 2019 by Caldwell County Commissioners Court Resolution 05-2020.

Dennis Engelke, co-founder and President of CCCSF, emphasizes the foundation's crucial role in helping local nonprofits sustain their services. CCCSF secures funding from private foundations, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals for re-granting, making the grant application process accessible and user-friendly. Dennis believes that "every grant dollar spent is one less taxpayer dollar spent," a message that holds even greater significance in times of high need and limited funds.

CCCSF has successfully secured funding through Caldwell County’s American Rescue Plan Funds, St. David’s Foundation grants, and private donations. The foundation also aims to expand its community-building efforts beyond grant awards, continuing the momentum started by its Grant Writing Workshops.
